Since this chair is my very own, I feel I must name it.

B: Mommy!!!!
(Many times in varying tones and volumes, because Mommy sleeps like the dead)

Mommy: Yes B?

B: I need to go potty!

Mommy stumbles out of bed and into the kids' room.
Looks over at D's crib to see if he slept through the calls...

D: 'Hi!'

Mommy thinks if she just ignores D - he will go back to sleep.

Mommy grabs B and takes her potty and gets her all snuggled back in bed.

Mommy then looks over at D.

Mommy: D, go back to sleep.

D then quickly flops down and is as quiet as a mouse.

Mommy is glad D is such a good sleeper.
Mommy misses Daddy.

Summer's Guilty Pleasure

I just finished watching 'So You Think You Can Dance'.
I.Love.That.Show.

B and I sat together and watched it for a few dances.
Of course she had umpteen million questions...
Her fav's were... 'Is that her dancing outfit?' followed by 'That isn't a very pretty outfit to dance in'. And... what is hip hop? What is the Cha cha? I didn't see many Cha cha's in that dance - did you?

And it went on and on. You may think I am joking... no... she is that full of questions.

It just doesn't feel like summer!
The last couple of days have been rainy - which is good - and cool - which is okay.
Today I wore a turtleneck and knitted scarf to work.
When I stepped outside today - I knew from the smell that it was summer.
Dirt just smells good.

But I am not complaining! I would love to have 60 degree weather more often.

Is it Sunday afternoon again already?
Cripes.

This past weekend had a whirlwind of activity.
I was the auction chair of our Choir Gala. It went well.
There are improvements that will be made for next year.
But talk about trial by fire. That checkout is brutal. But in a good way! We want people to spend their money!!

So now today I see the result of being hyperfocused on an event when I look at my house.
Whoo whee.

The end of an era

Scott is closing down his blog 'Going 40 in a 20 Zone'.

'It was a good thing' to quote Martha Stewart.

Scott... please start another blog so I can read it when I am bored at work, riding in the car to church, and sitting down at the computer at the end of the day after I have just wrangled the kiddos into bed. Oh and it gave MD and I something to talk about... Lots of great reasons I think.
It gave both of us something to look forward to.

Thanks for sharing so much of your experience with us in such an entertaining way.
I will miss it.
