This is one of those days
Today is one of those days that I wish I was pregnant again.
I have a sinus headache, a canker sore, and I have a tire of pudge around the middle and no baby inside to blame it on. Poor me right?
It is so good when pregnancy is good. You can eat whatever you want to and are even encouraged to eat more. If you know me and my eating habits you know that I eat like a bird usually. Man, when I was prego I could eat more than MD and faster as well. It was amazing.
So I hope all you expecting Mom's out there are enjoying being pregnant. Happy baby growing!

Are we on the downside of summer already?
I was talking to some friends at church on Sunday and one said we were half way through summer already. I have to say that I think summer is just gearing up. It didn't get really hot until this past weekend and I guess I don't like it when people are 'mostly empty'.
I took some pictures of our yard this past week.
One is of our tomatos, brocolli, raspberries, and marigolds, another is of some day lilies, and the last is of B in the side yard.
Enjoy!

And so it begins or need to buy stock in bandaids
B has fallen down twice in the last week and scraped her knees. Today with the knee scrapin,' she also put a small puncture in the heel of her hand. Please say a small prayer tonight that we don't end up in the emergency room with a broken bone soon. (Knocking on my head as I type.)
D on the other hand is in need of band aids because he is a scratcher. I think he gets that from me. Sorry kid.

Happy 4th of July!
Besides the U.S. declaring independence from Britain on this day, lots of other stuff happened too. (Well Duh Cate!)
Thomas Jefferson (1826), John Adams(1826), and James Monroe(1831) died on this day.
In 1845, Henry David Thoreau moved into his shack on Walden Pond.
In 1997, the U.S. Pathfinder probe landed on Mars.
In 2008, Cate, MD, B, and D got up and had a wonderful day.
Hope you do too!

Sweet Niblits!
Obviously, when a family has two kids - comparisons are made and difference and similarites are talked about with everyone from your spouse to the lady waiting behind us at the grocery store.
When B was born, she was a big baby. 8lbs 6 ozs. But now she is almost 4 and still wears 2T pants. She is long and thin right now and last night I caught her wearing D's 3 month pants again.
Now when D was born, he was about the same size. (Sorry I can't remember the weight. That is the curse of the 2nd born.) But he is closing in FAST on 20 lbs and he is 6 months TODAY!!! Happy 6 months!
So when our server at our favorite local pizza place said that he could guess how old D was... I laughed and said 'Okay, how old do you think he is?'
He said '10 Months and very advanced for his age'. (Obviously trying to soothe me if he guessed too young.)
I said 'Nope! 6 months tomorrow.'
He said 'Sweet Niblets! What are you feeding him?' The look of surprise was evident and the response was so immediate that the table burst into laughter.
The table which included our friends Ya ya and Stees laughed long and hard about that one.

Clothes on the Line
When we moved into our house, I didn't think twice about the two clothesline poles in the back yard. The previous owner also had the entire length of her basement strung with clothesline which we used at first but then not. They just weren't strong enough for what I wanted to hang.
The Star Tribune has an article on the website today talking about this phenomenon becoming more prevalent. That just boggles my mind! When did it stop being something most people did? I can understand not hanging all your clothing out all the time but don't people just hang the big stuff outside - like sheets and bedspreads? I guess not.
Personally, I love to hang stuff on the line. Everything comes off the line smelling like sun and wind. Yeah - you get the occasional bug but I can handle that.
Hanging clothes on the line is one of those meditative chores. No thinking necessary. And oh yeah - it saves some energy not to be running that electric shock generator.

Ms.Crabby McCrabberton
Wow.
I don't think I could get ANY CRABBIER today. Whew.
I guess I am on the road to recovery since I can recognize it. Right?
One side effect of crabbiness is impulsiveness. Not good.
Another issue of crabbiness is writing in your blog about something that REALLY made me mad yesterday TWICE. I had to erase both entries because I KNOW it will get me into more trouble. Not worth it.
Deep Breath... in the nose ............................. and out the mouth....................................
