Sprinter
We survived winter... just barely.
I won't tell you how many times I thought the cold was over to be put back in the deep freeze again.

Summer To Do list
I get home from work and immediately put my play clothes on.
I can think of many things I could do outside.
Weed the garden,
mix up the compost,
mow the lawn,
water the plants.
Just a few of the items on my summer to do list.
Winter is still months away.

Going back to School
Have you considered going back to school - in other words - getting a second degree?
Uff da.
My current job has morphed into this uber crazy position that is so pared down that all I get to do is the stuff that I have to do. Not fun. So after 8 months of this position - I am wondering if maybe a job change is in my future.
Have you gone back to school?
Did you have kids and a home to support?
My dream since I was pretty much done with my first degree is to be a librarian.
Maybe someday I will realize that dream or not.

Adding Professional Sports to the list
Growing up in a small town in a state that didn't have any professional sports - I never really became a fan of any teams - except maybe the Cubs. But didn't really even follow them - I just knew some of the more popular players.
Living in a large metropolitan area - I have recently been to two professional baseball games and *surprise* I enjoyed going! Didn't hurt that they won both games either.
Then this past weekend - I watched the PGA US Open on TV for the first time. I may even have a few players that I like. (I will save that disclosure for another time). But I thought I would try to find out when the next tournament is and am failing miserably. I am pretty sure it is the British Open but trying to find it on the PGA home page isn't working. Which probably goes to show how little I know about golf - right? Oh well. I will search for British Open and find it right away.
So far absolutely no interest in basketball or football or hockey (yuck!) but all are playing professionally in my current hometown. So stay turned for more amateur talk on sports!

It's February?
and I haven't written in months...
Excited about 2013.
I have a milestone birthday this year.
Can't believe I will be 'over the hill'.
Makes me feel like I have to get over some hill just to be a smart-ass.
2012 kind of sucked...
Job stress
Health stress
I have to drive in snow... :)
Looking forward to spring.
We are supposed to be done with the super cold weather now.
My fingers are crossed.

Humans have never understood the power of Love, for if they had they would surely have built noble temples and altars and offered solemn sacrifices; but this is not done, and most certainly ought to be done, since Love is our best friend, our helper, and the healer of the ills which prevent us from being happy.
To understand the power of Love, we must understand that our original human nature was not like it is now, but different. Human beings each had two sets of arms, two sets of legs, and two faces looking in opposite directions. There were three sexes then: one comprised of two men called the children of the Sun, one made of two women called the children of the Earth, and a third made of a man and a woman, called the children of the Moon. Due to the power and might of these original humans, the Gods began to fear that their reign might be threatened. They sought for a way to end the humans' insolence without destroying them.
It was at this point that Zeus divided the humans in half. After the division the two parts of each desiring their other half, came together, and throwing their arms about one another, entwined in mutual embraces, longing to grow into one. So ancient is the desire of one another which is implanted in us, reuniting our original nature, making one of two, and healing the state of humankind.
Each of us when separated, having one side only, is but the indenture of a person, and we are always looking for our other half. Those whose original nature lies with the children of the Sun are men who are drawn to other men, those from the children of the Earth are women who love other women, and those from the children of the Moon are men and women drawn to one another. And when one of us meets our other half, we are lost in an amazement of love and friendship and intimacy, and would not be out of the other's sight even for a moment. We pass our whole lives together, desiring that we should be melted into one, to spend our lives as one person instead of two, and so that after our death there will be one departed soul instead of two; this is the very expression of our ancient need. And the reason is that human nature was originally one and we were a whole, and the desire and pursuit of the whole is called Love.
